The Wild Coast was truly wild this week
The “wild’ coast certainly lived up to its name this week. Play on day 1 was suspended due to high winds & the field of 18 senior Professionals had to play 36 holes on the 2nd day.
Unfortunately, Mark McNulty, one of the finest golfers produced out of Southern Africa was unable to compete having just returned from the UK.
The Wild Coast Sun (WCS) Pro-Am took place from 18-20 November 2021, with Doug McGuigan winning on an exceptional total score of 12 under par, 198. Doug won by 10 shots from Chris Williams with details available on the website. The conditions for play on day one was horrendous with play having to be abandoned after several holes played due to extremely high winds in the region of 70Km per hour. The event committee made a decision to play 36 holes on day 2 to enable the tournament to still be a 54 -hole event. The course was wet and played longer on the last day. We thank Sun International and Heineken for their well accepted contributions to the event. We hope to make this a better and bigger tournament in the future.
