David Frost and Mark McNulty scheduled to play in the SA Senior Masters
On behalf of the Sunshine Senior Tour we are pleased to announce that David Frost and Mark McNulty have committed to play in the SA Senior Masters at Silver Lakes from 23-25 November 2020. Both these stars have excellent and world class careers with Frost having posted 10 PGA wins on the USA PGA Tour and multiple wins on the Champions PGA Tour for the over 50- year olds. Mark’s career is also well documented with over 60 wins worldwide and a ‘Senior Major’ having won the Tradition on the Champions PGA Tour.
This will be the ninth hosting of the SA Senior Masters by Jannie Ackerman and the 6th at the wonderful Silver Lakes venue.
The tournament will be played in a Pro-Am competition format in teams of four (one pro + three amateurs) on the first two days. The professionals will also play a stroke play tournament concurrently with the teams’ event for a disclosed prize fund and be in a seeded draw for professionals only on the third day.
The expected two- day pro-am fields of 30 professionals and 90 amateur participants will create the usual great vibe. The amateurs will play off their recognised and accredited handicaps off their chosen tee markers in accordance with Golf RSA handicapping rules.
Screening and registration of players and guests on arrival will be administered on site at the Club, where temperature testing and a non-symptoms declaration is required by all.
Further, sanitisation and social distancing will be in place and all participants will be made aware of the rules of play covering Covid-19.
A great three days of fun and good golfing is expected at the fantastic Silver Lakes lay out where water, as penalty areas, pose the biggest threat to low scoring for the professionals.
